Delivers personal training through Azure Lab Services.

With so many employees forced to work from home and practice social distancing, companies like iTWO Academy, the training arm of RIB Software, an innovator in the building and construction industry, needed to rethink its training delivery methods.

In the past, iTWO Academy would usually conduct training at their offices at RIB; however, due to COVID-19 restrictions, this was just not an option.

Another challenge iTWO Academy faced was that after every training session, they needed to wipe all the training applications off each desktop, ready for the next batch of training; laborious, to say the least!

iTWO Academy came to Intwo in search of a cloud-based platform the company could use for their training modules. However, they also had some non-negotiable requirements.

1. The solution needed to be economical
2. It needed to be easy to manage and deploy
3. It needed to enable training staff to virtually wiping applications after each user session
4. It needed to be simple and easy for users to access when training from home – through a “one-click” URL.

What we did

Our tech experts planned a meeting with iTWO Academy and went over a possible solution – but soon realized that it was not compliant with their requirements.

Then we had an epiphany! Our team quickly realized that there was an available Azure solution called Azure Lab Services.

Azure Lab Services was a perfect match as it’s all about helping both professionals and students. It’s easy to set up and provides on-demand access to preconfigured virtual machines (VMs) to support iTWO Academy’s training platform.

We were able to configure Azure Lab VMs with the right training content, apps, and features – along with the number of hours needed to complete the training and a unique URL for each training module. Plus, it was no longer necessary for users to download any third-party software.

Seamless user experience

The user experience of the Azure Lab platform is seamless – something that’s essential when delivering online training programs. The platform also comes with a number of editable templates and an automatic shutdown feature if the users are not participating.

Given that Microsoft invests over $1 billion annually on cybersecurity research and development, the Azure Lab platform was a no brainer when delivering remote training solutions as you need to factor in people’s home setup, such as varying client types and limited network security.
